Contrary to popular belief, you can get a (cheap) auto insurance even if you have a bad credit history.
With the increasingly high competition among insurance companies, some will offer coverage plans even if you have a not so good credit record. It's their way of expanding their customer base.
Of course, your premium will be higher. You pose a high risk to the insurer, hence you'll be billed more. But if you pay your installments on time (and work towards improving your credit scoring in the mean time), the rates will get lower in time.
So yes, fire up your browser and start shopping around for some insurance packages.

I have experienced this thing and know that a bad credit has adverse affect when shopping for an auto insurance policy. People having a bad credit record are charged more from those who have a good credit history for the same coverage policy. Even there are carriers who don't consider this factor at all when quoting the price.
